Health and Sanitation: Improving Quality of Life

In Kadapa, many people suffer from the consequences of inadequate drinking water quality and poor sanitary conditions. The new well will provide clean, fluoride-free water, which will help prevent diseases such as skin conditions and gastrointestinal problems. By improving water and sanitation, the overall health of the villagers will be promoted, and their quality of life significantly enhanced.

Time Savings: Access to Education

An often underestimated aspect of access to clean water is time savings. Until now, many residents, especially women and children, have had to travel long distances to fetch water. With the new drinking water well, this daily burden is eliminated, allowing people more time for education and personal development. This will also promote access to both formal and informal educational opportunities – a crucial step towards a better future.

Economic Support and Local Training

Water is Right also promotes the autonomy of local communities by providing training in water management. Technicians on-site are trained to maintain and operate the facilities independently. A portion of the income from water sales is invested in the project’s maintenance fund, ensuring the sustainability of the well's operation. Last year, large donations made it possible to cover all additional project costs.

MyClimate: Sustainable Climate Protection Worldwide

In addition to Water is Right, we are also a proud partner of MyClimate, a renowned organization dedicated to global climate protection. With projects that focus on both CO₂ reduction and social and economic improvements, MyClimate offers holistic solutions to the challenges of climate change.

Successes in Climate Protection: Composting Project in Nepal

One particular project we support is turning waste into biofertilizer in Nepal. This climate protection project achieves impressive results, both ecologically and socio-economically. In 2023/2024, CERVO Mountain Resort contributed to the following successes:

- Reduced CO₂ emissions: 336 tons

- Amount of compost produced: 161 tons

- Processed waste: 1,626 tons

- Jobs created: 43

- People trained: 1,400

This project not only significantly reduces CO₂ emissions but also supports the local economy by creating jobs and building knowledge in waste management. Waste is turned into valuable compost, which can be used in agriculture to improve soil quality, increasing farmers' yields and enhancing food security.
