CERVO HISTORY

Daniel F. Lauber and Seraina Lauber had a dream: a boutique hotel at the base of the Matterhorn, where the whole world could come together and enjoy a break.

The dream becomes reality

At the end of 2009 the CERVO Mountain Boutique Resort opened its doors. In two phases of construction, five chalets and a restaurant were initially built, giving Zermatt a new highlight. A good ten years later, the “new” CERVO Mountain Resort reopens its doors in December 2020 and presents itself with a new concept and expanded lodges.

As the son of a passionate hunter, the original concept for the CERVO Mountain Boutique Resort was inherited by Daniel F. Lauber. The charm of the Alps and the style of the hunting lodges were to be incorporated into the design in a modern way. A combination of rough, natural materials and elegant elements should present a mix of simplicity and exclusivity. CERVO has remained true to this style in the extensions that followed in the years to come. In 2013 and 2014 chalet number six and the new restaurant Ferdinand were added.

The location above the village, the view of the Matterhorn: Some things have changed but a lot has stayed the same. At CERVO the whole world meets, you eat together, you drink together, you have fun together, and yet you can easily find peace and quiet in the individual lodges. Those who come to CERVO value personal service and high quality, then and now.

Beyond Exploring

At the end of 2020, the CERVO Mountain Resort is expanding its services to include a seventh lodge, a third restaurant and the exclusive Mountain Ashram Spa, which will replace the small spas previously located in the individual lodges. The concept evolves with time and the hunter becomes an explorer and gatherer. At CERVO, the philosophy moves on: BEYOND EXPLORING is the new guiding principle. BEYOND SUSTAINABILITY and BEYOND CULTURE complete the concept.
